This is the first post for our new blog. The aim of this blog is to discuss topics that are relevant to our company as well as our industry…..which brings me to the first question….which is our industry???? Where does Lorena Oberg fit within the beauty industry….well….I guess….we just DON’T. We are kind of a bit here and a bit there but most of all, were just OUT THERE.
Our headquarters are based in Caterham. Lorena Oberg is a family business, and the family lives in Caterham and are very much part of the local community. Most of our staff also live in Caterham and the surrounding areas. We also have a clinic in Harley St which allows us to service a far greater area of London.
The company had very humble beginnings…. Only three years ago Lorena, having trained in medical tattooing and tattoo removal, found a treatment room to rent in a local hair dresser. She began the company as a single mother whilst on benefits, taking advantage of the help from Linda at the Purley Job Centre.
Like many women going through a divorce, Lorena was faced with the possibility losing everything including her children. With a high court battle on her hands and not being able to afford a solicitor, she made the decision to quit her job in the insurance sector, go on benefits and self represent in the high court to fight for her children. It was during this time that she re trained for her new career.
It was not long before Lorena developed DermaEraze and the rest is now history. DermaEraze has been hailed in the press as the only treatment that really does work for stretch marks!!!
With the help of Stefan, her now husband Lorena Oberg has opened her bespoke Clinic/Hair Salon in Caterham and has an established clinic in Harley Street.
Our business has 3 major areas. The core business is our skin services. Caterham has a Hair Salon and these two tie in nicely to bring our Cancer Makeover Services. This is where the medical side of beauty meet.
Lorena has always been passionate about helping those living with cancer having been touched by the disease when her young nephew was diagnosed with Leukemia. She describes this as the worst and best experience of her life…and owes to this experience the fact that nothing phases her…. in her words “once you’ve been faced with the possibility losing one of your babies..nothing else will ever come close”. Except perhaps losing both a spouse and aunt to breast cancer….which is what Stefan Oberg has experienced. We firmly believe that if you look good you feel better and we actively support the charity of that very name holding monthly seminars in our Caterham Clinic.
The last three years have been incredible for Lorena, her family and her team. With her children’s custody secured and Stefan’s support, we have been able to achieve growth during a recession that most multinationals would envy. We look forward to the next three years!!!!!!
