Frequently Asked Questions – Mesotherapy Training

What is Mesotherapy?

Taken from Wikipidia – Mesotherapy (from Greek mesos, “middle”, and therapy from Greek therapeia, “to treat medically”) is a non-surgical cosmetic medicine treatment. Mesotherapy employs multiple injections of pharmaceutical and homeopathic medications, plant extracts, vitamins, and other ingredients into subcutaneous fat. Mesotherapy injections allegedly target adipose fat cells, apparently by inducing lipolysis, rupture and cell death among adipocytes.[1]

What do we inject into the skin?

With traditional mesotherapy the most commonly used injectible is Hyaluronic Acid because of the well known qualities in regenerating the skin.

What will Mesotherapy do for my skin?

Mesotherapy will regenerate the skin in the areas treated.  It will make deep wrinkles far less visible and it will have a lifting effect because the skin will be firmer.  This is done by stimulating the fibroblasts within the skin and acting on a cellular level.

I thought only doctors could inject.  I’m` a Therapist, can I do this?

YES!  This is the best kept secret in the industry.  Mesotherapy is injected no deeper than you would do when using a dermal roller, therefore most insurance companies happily cover this.  Also, the complication rate with this treatment is extremely low, bruising being one of the very few contra actions of the treatment.  Beauty Therapist and Semi Permanent Makeup Techs are covered by insurance after completing our training.

How long is the training?

We offer a one day fundamental training which covers how to inject and basic treatment protocols.  There is a written aspect to this course which, if successful, will give you a Level 4 Accreditation.  You’re given 8 weeks to complete the written coursework.

How much does the product’s cost and how much do I charge?

Different strength and syringe volumes have different prices and all this is explained in traing.  To give you an idea.  A basic treatment you would charge between £150 and £195 and the injectable will cost you £45.  Including the consultation you will need about an hour to perform the treatment.

Do you have to test patch?

Like Botox and Fillers, you do not test patch.  Hyaluronic Acid is a bio identical substance that is readily produced in your body so it has an extremely low rejection rate.  The reason insurance is so easy to get is because there is very low risk of complication.

How far apart are the treatments.

The protocol is to do three treatments in the space of 6 weeks and then monthly or bi monthly according to skin type and results.

Do I get a qualification with this training?

Yes you do.  You get a Level 4 Mesotherapy Qualification from the Wynyard Aesthetics Academy provided that your course work is turned in on time and to an acceptable level.

How much is training?

Training is  £950 + Vat.
